Subscription Policy.
Plans and billing frequency
Rinpil offers four tiers: First Year Free, Keepsake, Milestones, and Heirloom. Paid tiers bill monthly or annually. Annual plans are priced at 10× the monthly rate (roughly two months free). All prices are in US dollars.
Free trial (First Year Free)
The First Year Free tier is free for exactly 12 months from signup and does not require a credit card at registration. On the 12-month anniversary it converts automatically to $0.99/month; a payment method is required to continue. You'll receive reminders 30, 7, and 1 day before conversion and a persistent Vault banner starting at month 11.
Auto-renewal
Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price. You can turn off renewal any time from the Subscription page.
Upgrades and downgrades
Upgrades take effect immediately with a pro-rated charge. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period. If your new tier's limits are lower than your current usage, you'll be prompted to pick which recordings and recipients to keep active before the change applies.
Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel any time. Cancellation ends billing at the close of the current period. Except where required by law, past charges are non-refundable and partial periods are not pro-rated on cancellation.
What happens when a plan expires
If a subscription expires or fails to renew, content may become inaccessible after the applicable grace period: 7 days on First Year Free, 10 days on paid tiers with daily reminders. Within the window you can renew, upgrade, update your payment method, or download all of your videos with one click. At the end of the window, if no active subscription is in place, all videos are permanently deleted and the account is closed for privacy. Rinpil does not keep a dormant read-only state on any plan.
Storage limits
Each tier has a defined video count, recipient count, and storage limit (see the Pricing page). You cannot upload beyond your tier's limits; you can upgrade at any time.
